Your art on families’ invitations
Najm is looking for illuminators and illustrators to design borders for its cards, for Nikah, Walima, Mehndi, Aqiqah and Eid invitations. You earn £10 every time a family chooses your design.
What we are looking for
Your own work, in the Islamic and South Asian traditions. No pictures of people, and no verses of the Qur’an as decoration.
- Borders
- A band of pattern all round the edge of the card: strapwork, stars, a vine.
- Frames with corners
- A finer frame, with flourishes or flowers gathered at each corner.
- In the traditions
- Drawn in the Mughal, Persian or Ottoman manner, or girih and star patterns.
How it works
- 1JoinYour name, a link to your Instagram or portfolio, and your email. Your own page for your designs opens straight away.
- 2Upload a borderA PNG with a clear background, an SVG, or a drawing on white paper. You see it at once on every card, in its gold.
- 3We look at itWe look at every design ourselves. Once we offer it, couples see it among the cards’ designs, with your name beside it.
- 4Paid each month£10 for every invitation that goes live in your design, by bank transfer through Stripe, as partners are paid.
Your work stays yours
You keep the copyright, and you can sell and show your work anywhere else. Najm may use your design on invitations, their previews and films, and to show the design on this site. You can stop offering a design yourself, on your page, at any time; invitations already made keep it.
You also get your own code as you apply: couples who use it pay half while our first 100 places last (then £10 less), and you earn £10 for each of them.
